Biography

Harry Clewans was born in San Francisco.

Though mostly self-taught he also trained briefly at the Art Institute of San Francisco. He now resides in the Bay Area where he owns and operates Harry Clewans Fine Finishes. He splits his time doing custom painted finishes and fine art. Initially a painter, Harry began an exploration of the woodcut in the mid 1980’s.

He has studios in Berkeley and Oakland, California and Ancram, New York.
